I am repeating this verse lately. As I search for jobs this summer I find peace in remembering that doors open and shut for a reason.

Map Quest

I have had a slight obsession with anything maps lately. I always get in such a crafty mood in the summertime. Pinterest has just fanned the flames. Other obsessions lately, watercolors and barbeque baked potatoes. Laugh now, but if you have never tried the latter consider this a dare.

When I Grow Up

When I grow up... I want to be Tami Taylor. She is caring, graceful, spunky, and forgiving. Yes, I am aware she is a fictional character, however Mr. and Mrs. Coach Taylor's marriage is arguably the best that has been on television. If you have never watched, they are available on Netflix. Long live Friday Night Lights. Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose. Texas Forever.

Summer of Love

A few clips of the shower from this weekend. This one was for my former roommate Kendall, who is one of my many friends that is getting married this summer. I think it was definitely a Pinterest-worthy affair.

My New Vest Friend

These were taken after brunch at Madden's downtown on Saturday with two of my dearest friends. This denim vest is quickly paying for itself, as I can't seem to say tell it no when selecting outfits. Maybe it is the heat of summer, or maybe it is the fond memories of similar vest I had in third grade, probably both.

This is a great DIY project from P.S. I Made This. If you've never heard of them be sure and check out their website. Watch the video here. I love how this specific craft looks like real marble rather than paper. This would jazz up any outfit and can be worn dressed up or down.

Viva la Velvet

One luscious trend I am loving for Fall is velvet. The soft fabric makes me think I should be on a romantic rendezvous- or just stuck in the 90's. Wearing this trend may be finicky for some. I think it looks best in small doses, here are a few of my favorites. However, if you have the confidence or the body, by all means rock a slinky velvet dress.
